Federal Aviation Administration controllers and pilots are using new computer technology that could help flights get to their destinations faster and safer. Two weeks ago we made a major announcement: building on technology that we’ve been developing for more than 20 years, we released Computable Document Format (CDF) I think CDF is going to have a big effect on the way all sorts of things can be communicated.
At the event, Purdue faculty experts and leading national authorities will present their perspectives on the current technology explosion, explore conditions that will foster innovation and investment into the next generation of technology, and address the big-picture issues where both excitement and alarm are appropriate responses.
But Heshmat says the technology has the potential to advance, which would allow researchers to read further into a closed book or document and possibly rewrite the algorithm to read double-sided pages. We love it because it does make life easier, but we hate how complicated learning new technology can be and we get frustrated easily. That product design was developed by its Clyra Technology division, which has developed super absorbent pads and wound dressings, woven and non-woven wound dressings and other medical products, all of which have earned or are awaiting U.S. patents. They point to a bewildering array of technology and economic options for upgrading broadband networks, with emerging standards and technologies targeting legacy ‘last mile’ copper connections.
The same technology is even used in countries like Japan and Australia for various purposes. Because I’m planning to show you today a whole lot of technology that’s the result of that 40-year story—that I’ve never shown before, and that I think is going to be pretty important.
And while that might sound like hype, the company’s water purification and disinfectant technology developed by Edmonton-based inventor Kenneth R. Code, from whom BioLargo purchased the rights to the iodine-dosing system concept in 2007 (he remains its chief science officer), is expected to be piloted at an oilsands mining site in the next year or so.
